The Remington 870 Hardwood Home Defense pump action shotgun is a classic hardwood iteration of one of the best selling shotguns of all times. The Hardwood Home Defense features a traditional stock and foregrip mated to a receiver that has been machined from a solid block of steel for uncompromising strength and durability. Internally, twin action bars provide a silky smooth action free of binding that allows the 870 to cycle fast and reliably. An 18″ fixed cylinder choke barrel with a single bead front sight works well in confined spaces and works well with slugs or defensive loads. Thanks to the extended tube magazine, the 870 Hardwood boasts a 6+1 capacity using 2.75″ shells. The 870 incorporates a reliable cross bolt safety at the back of the trigger guard with a bolt release in front which can be used to eject a live round from the chamber without firing the weapon. The 870 hardwood is a reliable and effective home defense option that points well and provides the capacity you need without any “tacticool” gimmicks. This rock solid shotgun delivers outstanding quality, rugged good looks, and a reputation earned from over 10 million 870s sold since 1951.
